Cable & Wireless Grenada is proud to be a gold sponsor of the Grenada XL Cricket Classics, to be held at the Queen’s Park Stadium this weekend , October 6th & 7th. A cheque in the sum of Ten Thousand US Dollars (US$10,000) was handed over to the Grenada Sports Ltd, organizers of the event on Tuesday 2nd October. Handsets were also presented to Nigel Fenton and Allan Lamb , the chief international organizers of the games . Fenton and Lamb will enjoy free bMobile service during their stay in Grenada.
The presentations were made by Mrs. Jenny Theodore, acting Vice President of Retail S ervices to Sarah Baker , Nigel Lam and Allan Fenton of Grenada Sports. Mrs. Theodore noted that “Cable & Wireless is proud to be associated with the XL Cricket Classics, which she says, will afford Grenadians the opportunity to see famous West Indian and other cricket greats display their cricketing skills on local soil.” She noted that Cable & Wireless has been the sponsors of the West Indies Cricket for many years and also sponsor ed the ICC World Cup held in the West Indies earlier this year. The company also gave tickets to the Super Eight World Cup games held in Grenada to the Grenada Under Nineteen team thereby exposing the young aspiring cricketers to Cricket at its highest level.
Cable & Wireless, the leading telecommunications provider in Grenada is also providing free telecommunications services to the support personnel for the XL Cricket Classics and for the event .
In a gesture of goodwill staff of Cable & Wireless who worked behind the scenes at the Queens Park Stadium in order to ensure the success of the ICC Cricket World Cup will be treated to a weekend of fun as the company has secured tickets to the games for them. Only two weeks ago of Cable & Wireless celebrated Employees Appreciation Week.
