Cable & Wireless presented a cheque for $150,000 to the Grenada Carnival Committee (GCC) on Monday July 9 th. The presentation was made by Acting VP Retail Services Jennifer Theodore to the Chairman of the Committee Arthur Hosten. This is the third consecutive year that Cable & Wireless has been the main sponsor of Spicemas bringing the total sponsorship to nearly $500,000 EC dollars.

Making the presentation Mrs. Theodore remarked that “Cable & Wireless has enjoyed a harmonious working relationship with the GCC over the years and that the company is pleased to be a primary sponsor of Spicemas 2007 for the third consecutive year.” She noted that Cable & Wireless’ contribution to Carnival is evidence of the company’s commitment to culture in Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique.
Chairman of the committee Arthur Hosten expressed thanks to Cable and Wireless saying that the committee is happy for the continued support that Cable & Wireless has provided over the years. Mr. Hosten also said that despite the late start to carnival and the packed agenda the committee is unstinting in its promise to deliver a great Spicemas 2007.
In addition to the company’s Monday Night Mas portrayal which has captured the winning band three years consecutively, this year the company will also sponsor a section entitled “Rain” in the RKD and Associates Mas Band, Out of the Forest. Customers can again look forward to number of exciting carnival promotions and giveaways which will be launched shortly.
