THE
ART MUSEUM FUND
The
Grenada Arts Council launched an Art Museum Fund in February 2001
at the Grenada Cooperative Bank, in an effort to bring to the
people of Grenada an art resource centre and museum and to showcase
Grenadian art. Minister for Culture at the time, the Hon. Cuthbert
McQueen, was the first to donate to the fund. Towards the very
special endeavour the GAC gratefully accepts all donations, large
or small, corporate or individual to account
number 400000322 at any branch of the Grenada
Cooperative Bank. All corporate donations to the GAC are tax deductible.
THE
PERMANENT COLLECTION
The
Permanent Collection was established in 1995. At the start of
each GAC Annual Exhibition, one or more pieces are bought as Purchase
Awards, with contributions received specifically for this purpose.
Previous contributors to the Purchase Awards include Barclays
Bank, Caribbean Art Search Foundation, Grenada Bank of Commerce,
Grenada Cooperative Bank, Jonas Browne and Hubbard, Home Industries
Association, Quinn Company Limited, First Caribbean International
Bank, RBTT Bank, Grenada National Lottery Authority, Cable and
Wireless and Grenadian General Insurance Company Limited.
The
GAC invites continued support of this collection dedicated to
keeping Grenadian art in Grenada. The Permanent Collection is
currently displayed at the GAC Secretariat, at the Grenada Craft
Centre, Lagoon Road St George’s until February 28.
