Introducing one of Grenada's creative Rhapso artists - HUDSON GEORGE.
Born and raised in Hermitage, St Patrick's, Grenada, Hudson currently resides in Toronto, Canada. He had an early exposure to music through his father who was a Guitarist. His father in turn had learned the instrument in his teen years, and was a music teacher to many.
From a very early age, Hudson learned to play with words, rather than the guitar as his father did. He started writing poems and has continued writing to this day. Hudson believesthat there is power in the word through riddim and verse, so he started doing poetry readings in Toronto, with other black and Caribbean people.
This CD title "Everybody Looking For Something" is his second. The music and words represents his Grenadian / Caribbean culture and experience. The artist's main focus is on using traditional music with bass and blending with the word.
Because the Rhapso artform is so dependent on its lyrical contents, artists that choose this form of expression are obligated to read and research constantly in order to maintin interest and appeal. Hudson finds that to be not an obligation but a joy!
Hudson has earned a BA in Social Science from York University, Toronto, Canada.
