BERBICE, a.k.a. Lester Bowen, is indeed the new versatile voice in Caribbean-American, and Inter-Continental music.

His versatility, which is evidenced by his extraordinary ability to superbly write and vocalize just about every genre of music, puts him in a category where few are found. Born and raised in the Spice Isle of Grenada, the genesis and development of this artiste to his inaugural album can be capsulated in a few words: true talent, eclectic musical taste, and dedicated persistence.

From his humble beginnings as a teenage-songwriter and vocalist in his high school band -- Bits ft Pieces in the late 1970s, through his more recent shows appearing on stage with Artists’ such as Kevin Little, Sanchez, Mr. Easy, Screechy Dan, Red Fox, Half Pint, Merciless, Bounty Killer, Machet Montano, Bunji Garlin, KMC, Ziggy Rankings, Ajamu, Wizard, and TangIer, to his current release of Come On Over on the Artical One Remix in March of 2005. Berbice has been relentless in his quest for musical success driven by his true love of the art form.

As he puts it, “Music is the medium through which I best express myself. It fuels my mind, wakes me up, and keeps me moving on and if I am able to touch just one’s heart or soul with my music, and then my creations would not be in vain.”

Influenced by hosts of artistes who represent multiple musical genres -. from Bob Marley to Kenny Rogers and The Manhattans; from The Mighty Sparrow to Tito Puente and Kassav - - Berbice truly sees music as a medium that transcends languages and cultural differences.

In addition, drawing from the styles of the masters, his talent and experiences, Berbice has already established himself as a serious bona fide artiste who was just waiting to be discovered. With his simple but deep lyrics, versatile singing ability, and amorous stage presence, Berbice has exactly what it takes to captivate an audience.

His first widely published release, “Lady,” in 2001 made it alt the way to #1 on Wlib 1190 Am top 10 charts. Then in 2003, he did his second release, the popular single, “I lied” Produced by Rocking J, recorded at King Beats Studio and ALM studios. Berbice again continued to release tracks upon tracks.

He soon after released another big hit single “Do It Right” featuring Ziggy Rankings. His Latest release “Come on Over” released in March of 2005 took the Air Waves like a storm.

To date, the artiste has a whole range of genres in Caribbean and American music. Co-produced by Berbice and Rocking J, of the Bernadine of Grenville Ltd Label.
