Student Assistance Programme says:
"Break the poverty cycle, contribute to this Programme, assist in educating one needy child today for a better tomorrow."
As the socio-economic situation worsens for rural, low-income and unemployed people, the number of applications have increased and are still increasing dramatically, far outstripping GRENCODA's ability to provide finance.
Grenada Benevolent Trust Company (GBTC) has been established as of January 2000 to ensure the sustainability of this Programme. Already a small charity in England (Charities Advisory Trust) made the first endowment to the Trust in the form of a building, the income of which will go to the Books and Uniform Programme. You can also make an endowment to the furtherance of this Programme in cash or kind.
On average it costs EC $1,200.00 per child for Uniform, Books, and transportation allowance, to attend Secondary School for one (1) year and EC $. 1,800.00 for a child to receive tertiary education for one (1) year, both with the exception of examination fees which ranges from EC $173 - $371.00 and EC $250.00 - $500.00 respectively.
