Wednesday 1st February 2006- St. George’s: The Special Education Task Force of the Ministry of Education has scheduled a series of workshops aimed at empowering teachers from all primary schools throughout Grenada, Carriacou, and Petite Martinique with the necessary tools to better serve our children with disabilities. It is estimated that approximately 10% of the school-aged population should be receiving special education services due to some sort of mild to moderate disability. Each teacher selected will participate in four one-day training sessions from February to June 2006 covering special education information and practices and will receive assignments between training to be completed at their respective schools in preparation to function as a full-time Special Education Needs Teacher (SENT). The
workshops will commence in the Conference Room at the Ministry of Education
between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday 22nd February, 2006. |
